'Be aware' of flood risk

Leighton Buzzard and Linslade has been put on a precautionary flood alert this morning (9.45am) by the Environment Agency as heavy rainfall has seen the River Ouzel and the Clipstone Brook reach high levels.
Central Bedfordshire Council has also issued a warning about possible surface water risks, especially as the thundery showers expected today, and over the weekend, could see 30mm of rain falling in a short space of time. The council’s warning said: “we want people to ‘be aware’.”
