PUBLIC MEETING REGARDING LOCAL POLICING

The Town Council invites residents of Leighton Buzzard and Linslade to a public meeting to be held on Monday, 10 December 2012 commencing at 1930 hours at the Leighton Buzzard Theatre.

The meeting has been called in response to concerns about local policing and, in particular, about the future of the town’s police station. As the largest town in Central Bedfordshire and with further housing growth due to take place over the next few years, it is felt that a continued police presence within the town is essential.

The meeting will be attended by Councillors, Bedfordshire Police Chief Constable Hitchcock and Chief Inspector Roberts and will give local residents and businesses the opportunity to ask questions and give their views about local policing. It is hoped that the newly elected Bedfordshire Police Crime Commissioner will also be able to attend.
