Remember your limits!

Remember your limits!

SUMMER is here, the sun is shining, and there are many celebrations on the horizon.

It is always very important however, to remember your limits when drinking and driving.

Bedfordshire Police have issued warnings about the consequences of drink driving and how catastrophic on your life and those around you it can be.

Police warn that if you are convicted for a drink or drug drive offence, you will lose your license for a minimum of one year and you will have a criminal record. In some drink drive incidents you could potentially kill someone.

A police spokesman said: "Drinking any alcohol - even a small drink - makes you a worse driver and the only safe way is to not drink alcohol at all or to arrange another way of getting home".

Planning your night out:
* Think about how you are going to get home
* Do not drive to the venue as you may be tempted to drive home after drinking
* Book a taxi to take you home or use public transport to get home, or stay overnight
* Never offer an alcoholic drink to someone who you know is driving
* Remember that if you drink the night before you may still be over the limit the next morning. If this is the case you WILL still lose your license.

Enjoy the summer in Central Bedfordshire and DRIVE SAFELY..
