The Town Council’s annual Canal Festival takes place on Saturday, 31st July from 11.00am until 5.00pm at Tiddenfoot Waterside Park. This picturesque park is the ideal location for this outdoor festival that offers visitors of all ages a whole host of attractions and entertainment.
This FREE popular community event, which last year attracted an estimated 6,000 people, features more than ninty exhibits in three different areas of the park and all within easy walking distance of each other. Visitors will be spoilt for choice by the number of stalls selling quality goods, many of them locally made. Country crafts include alpaca knitwear, wooden gifts, pottery, glass jewellery and painted canal ware to name a few. Rural craft demonstrators will be working throughout the day demonstrating their skills in dry bucket making, trug making, bee skep making and love spoon making.
Every year Linslade Canal Festival features a variety of entertainers, musicians and morris dancing. The ever popular boat trips along the canal will be available along with the ferry boat service from the Canal Bridge in town to the park. Once again, visitors will be able to walk along the tow path and admire the large number of colourful narrow boats which will include working boats, pleasure boats and trading boats.
Car parking close to the festival site is available for £2.00 per car.
Refreshments and WC facilities, including access for all, are provided in the park grounds.
