Daniel Corban has reported his wife missing to the police. Following a whirlwind romance, they had been married for only three months, honeymooned in Venice, and then rented a chalet in the French Alps for an extra holiday. A couple of days after their arrival, they had an argument and Elizabeth Corban walked out. However, two weeks after her disappearance Daniel is visited by the local priest who claims he has found Madam Corban not only well but also repentant for running out on him. But, when she enters the chalet, Daniel is outraged to discover that she is not Madam Corban, though she insists she is. Is Daniel suffering from memory loss, going mad or is he the victim of an elaborate confidence trick….
